Sabancı University maintained its strong performance in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, which evaluated 2,297 universities worldwide. The university increased its overall score by 1.3 points compared to the previous year, rising from 50.1 to 51.4. By improving its scores in the Teaching, Research Environment, and Research Quality dimensions, Sabancı University achieved results that reinforce its identity as a research university and strengthen its research capacity.
Ranked in the 376–400 band in the THE World University Rankings 2027, Sabancı University secured third place among the 124 universities from Türkiye included in the ranking. The university stood out particularly for the score increases achieved in research-related indicators.
Steady Rise in Research and Teaching Indicators
Sabancı University’s research-oriented approach and scientific productivity were reflected in the strong performance in research-related indicators within the THE 2027 results. The university improved its performance in the Research Environment dimension, which measures scientific output capacity and global research reputation, as well as in the Research Quality dimension, which evaluates research impact from various perspectives based on scientific publication data.
Regarding the teaching dimension, teaching competencies are evaluated with a focus on both the educational environment and the capacity to train doctoral-level students; simultaneously, results from educational reputation surveys, which measure the global recognition of these competencies, constitute a significant part of the assessment.
